2016 FIRST Robotics Competition Crown Suppliers Put Technology in Students’ Hands

From motors to software to lighting solutions and safety expertise, donations and in-kind contributions from Crown Suppliers to the FIRST Robotics Competition keep the program running. Crown, the highest level of Supplier, designates a contribution of more than $250,000 for the FIRST Robotics Competition Kit of Parts, expertise, and/or the playing field.

“Our mission at FIRST is to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology,” said FIRST President Donald E. Bossi. “Generous support from Crown Suppliers enables the next generation of critical innovators and problem solvers to learn with the same tools and services used by professionals.”

The 2016 FIRST STRONGHOLD℠ Kit of Parts and competition playing field included components donated by 15 Crown Suppliers. With each team receiving a Kit of Parts, FIRST Suppliers put the latest professional technology into the hands of students, moving them toward careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields.
