FIRST LEGO League Jr. Grant Opportunity

Jun 01, 2017 Written by Collin Fultz, Project Manager, FIRST LEGO League Jr.

Hi FRC Teams!

I’m writing to let you know that we have a grant opportunity available that can help you grow FIRST LEGO League Jr. teams in your area! This past season, 75 sites were awarded the grant. One of the successful implementations of the program has been FRC and FTC teams using the grant to start and coach FLL Jr. teams. We have an additional 30 grants to award for the upcoming season.

The grant recipients will have their registration fees for a Small Season Pass paid for. They will also receive funds to purchase additional LEGO materials (including 12 WeDo 2.0 kits) and tablets to run the software.

The grant is targeted at sites which can reach at least 144 kids per season, with a focus on communities underserved and underrepresented in STEM. All students do not have to be in the same physical location (e.g. multiple schools within the same district). Grant recipients will need to agree to run the program and cover registration fees for two additional seasons.

More information is available within the grant application, found here. The grant deadline is July 14, 2017.

I also want to thank the LEGO Foundation for this amazing opportunity.

If you have any questions, you can email me at

Thank you!
