Make the Most of FIRST Championship

Apr 11, 2019 Written by FIRST Staff

FIRST® Championship is here and we want to make sure that you’re prepared to take advantage of the non-robot activities that the event has to offer! Specifically, the activities that will take your FIRST experiences and help you harness them for your next steps in life – whether continued education, career, or just staying in touch with the FIRST Community!

Here are some tips to take advantage of these activities at #FIRSTChamp whether you’re attending in person or online:

  • Check out FIRST Championship Conferences. We have whole tracks at each FIRST Championship devoted to Alumni and Career with sessions on everything from “Using the FIRST Scholarship and Internship Portals”, to both sessions and workshops on Resume Writing and Interview Skills, to our Putting FIRST to Work for You panel with sponsors. See the Conference schedules for Houston and Detroit here.
  • Bring business/contact cards. It’s all about who you know! Make sure that you can get back in touch with the people you meet at FIRST Championship! Give them to companies or schools that you’re interested in connecting further with at the Innovation Faire; give them to the FIRSTers you meet and are working or studying in the field(s) you’re interested in.
  • Visit the Innovation Faire. Hand out those cards! Talk to schools and companies about your future and learn about the opportunities that they may have for you as a student, intern, and employee!
  • If you’re already a FIRST Alum: attend the FIRST Alumni Mixer! All FIRST Alumni are invited to join us on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm for a special reception as part of the Welcome Party. Alumni will connect with one another, FIRST Staff, and event Sponsors. Register to join us in Houston and Detroit. And don’t forget to pick up your Alumni ribbon at registration!

We want you to have the time of your life at FIRST Championship. Start preparing now so you can focus on the celebration when you get there.

Get pumped for FIRST Championship
