Build The Future Spotlight: Team Roboswords

For our Innovation Project, as part of the FIRST^® GAME CHANGERS^SM powered by Star Wars: Force for Change season, we researched and discovered students in the age group of 9 – 15 are becoming technology addicted. We developed a game that includes physical activity, imitation, universal values, general culture, mathematics, and grammar. The game is designed to help students be physically and mentally active, and help activate and improve mental and physical skills for all participants. The game can be played in or out of school, and helps students learn while having fun – and a game everyone can play! Our team was named a 2021 FIRST^® LEGO^® League Challenge Innovation Project Semi-Finalist, and, as a village school team, it was a great experience that helped our students develop confidence.

FIRST by reaching disadvantaged students – at our own school and others nearby – to raise awareness of the program and to introduce more students to robotics, and how learning can be fun. Looking ahead, we also want to prioritize projects that reduce environmental damage from air pollution, global warming, fires, water issues, natural disasters and human-made infrastructure.
