FIRST Strategic Partner FedEx Assists Workforce with Robotic Arm
April 7, 2021By FIRST Staff
Join the FIRST community for Beyond the Bots on FIRSTtv this Thursday, April 8 at 6:30PM ET as we sit down with Aaron Prather, Senior Advisor of the Technology, Research and Planning Team at FedEx, to discuss their “Pick and Place” robots.
With an output of almost 8,000 packages per day, these innovative robots are helping the FedEx workforce tackle the surge of packages resulting from an online-ordering world. The goal is not for the robotic arms to replace human employees, though. Instead, the FedEx robots and staff members work together to sort parcels efficiently for delivery. This automation also provides an opportunity to enhance employees’ jobs, making them more comfortable, easier, and as safe as possible.
Tune in and subscribe to learn more about this incredible innovation and how it is shaping the FedEx workforce!
