A NEW Woodie Flowers Tradition is coming to an event near you, in 2022!!!
In the early years of FIRST, Woodie, wearing his denim shirt, was a staple at every tournament. As FIRST grew, it became virtually impossible for him to be at every tournament because of the multiple tournaments each weekend!

2022 Woodie Flowers Grant Recipient Announced
To honor the legacy of gifted and beloved professor and FIRST Distinguished Advisor Woodie Flowers, the Woodie Flowers Memorial Grant awards one initial, renewable grant of $10,000 to a FIRST student. This year’s recipient is six-year FIRST participant Megan Volkening.

FIRST Scholarship Provider: The Knowledge Society
The Knowledge Society (TKS) is accepting teens into the next cohort of its Global program. TKS is a 10-month program for teens (ages 13-17) who are looking to make a real impact and learn how to use emerging technologies to solve the world’s biggest problems, like climate change, world hunger, poverty, and more.
Remote Judging Update
Back in November, we released a blog that shared that Single-Day Events are judged remotely. At the time, the plan was that traditional events would conduct judging in-person (although events could choose to do Dean’s List remotely).
