Off Season Events are competitions run by teams outside the FIRST Robotics Competition Event Season.

Teams wishing to schedule the use of a full or partial field from FIRST HQ for any event should read the 2018 Off Season Event Criteria and Considerations and download the appropriate documents.

Please note that, in order to use a FIRST supplied field, you must have the appropriate paperwork turned in to FIRST at least two weeks prior to your event. You can download the Off Season Agreement here

To request a field from FIRST HQ for an Off Season Event, please email frcoffseason@firstinspires.org. Please include the location and date for your event, as well as the person who will be the main contact. 

*NOTE: FIRST will not support Off Season Events until three weeks after Championship. Equipment will not be available to ship until May 21, 2018. All loaned equipment (both fields and electronics) must be returned to FIRST Headquarters by Friday, November 9, 2018.

FMS Off Season

FMS Off Season is a simplified version of the Field Management System (FMS) used by FIRST Robotics Competition at events. This system can used in place of a full FMS to run Off Season Events.

  • Per the license agreement: By using the Software, You understand that You may not distribute the Software or otherwise make the Software available for use by others. This helps make sure that those wishing to utilize the software are receiving legitimate, up-to-date software directly from FIRST.

If you find bugs, or would like to request new features, you can submit them using the FRC CollabNet site. We do not anticipate releasing any updates, but welcome feedback for consideration for future editions.

Posting Results to FIRST from Off Season Events

FIRST allows off season events (who meet certain requirements) to synchronize their information with FIRST HQ in a manner similar to Official Events. Events who meet the requirements will have data and results posted to the FIRST Event Results website (https://frc-events.firstinspires.org/) and API (https://frc-api.firstinspires.org/v2.0/)

Off Season Event Calendar

To request your event be listed on the calendar, send an email with the following information to frcoffseason@firstinspires.org:

  • Name of Event
  • Dates
  • Time
  • Location
  • Contact Name
  • Contact Email or Phone (please note that this information will be shared on the calendar)
  • Website (if applicable)
  • Where you are getting a field for your event (District, AndyMark, FIRST HQ, etc.)

Additional Information

The Off Season fields from FIRST HQ do not generally come with game pieces.
