FIRST® LEGO® League introduces STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) to children ages 5-16 (varies by region) through fun, exciting hands-on learning.
Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program using LEGO® technology, helping today’s students, families, and educators build a better future together.

In BIOGLOW™, releasing August 4, 2026, FIRST® LEGO® League teams will experience the vibrancy of the world's ecosystems, with two editions of the Challenge: Founders Edition and Future Edition. BIOGLOW is part of the FIRST® CANOPY™ season.
FIRST LEGO League Editions
For nearly three decades, FIRST® and LEGO® Education have partnered to deliver FIRST LEGO League and introduce millions of young people to STEM through hands-on learning, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
The 2026-2027 FIRST LEGO League season, BIOGLOW™, will be the final season of the program and include two editions: Founders Edition and Future Edition. Event availability, format, and timing will vary by region.

Founders Edition (Grades 2-8 | Ages 6-16)
based on LEGO Education SPIKE technology
BIOGLOW™ Founders Edition
In BIOGLOW™ Founders Edition, FIRST® LEGO® League Explore (ages 6-10) and Challenge (ages 9-16, varies by country) teams will participate in a game experience using LEGO® Education SPIKETM technology.
Students in Explore will focus on the fundamentals of engineering while experiencing hands-on problem solving. Students will learn to design, code, and discover real-world solutions using LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential.
Students in Challenge will apply the STEM skills they have learned to friendly competition. These students will program a LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime robot to autonomously complete missions against a playing field during two-and-a-half minute matches. They will also explore the biodiversity theme in the game and Innovation Project. Details will be released at season kickoff on August 4, 2026.

BIOGLOW™ Future Edition
In BIOGLOW™ Future Edition, FIRST LEGO League teams (Options for Grades K-2/Ages 5-7 and Grades 3-8/Ages 8-16, ages vary by country) participate in a game experience centered around biodiversity, using LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI kits.
Teams will collaborate to build and code wireless hardware to advance their skills and solve mission in this new interactive alliance-based game across the mat during the two-and-a-half minute matches.
Through their Innovation Project, they will dig deeper and learn more about biodiversity and how the balance between nature and humans keeps our world healthy.
Challenge details will be released at season kickoff on August 4, 2026.
