Networking Opportunity with our Amazing Judges!

Apr 13, 2017 Written by Cindy Stong and Allen Bancroft, Co-Chief Judge Advisors, FIRST Robotics Competition

Our wonderful FRC judges wanted more time and opportunity to interact and share their experiences with FIRST students. Due to this, we are planning to hold our 3rd Speed Networking event Saturday at each Championship event, 9:30am to 11:30am. In St Louis, it will be held in room 123 of the America’s Center. In Houston, it will be held in rooms 372 A & D on the third floor. This event in the past has been well attended and we wanted to make it bigger and better. Please note that this event is not to discuss awards but is to encourage students to network with professionals and ask those career questions you’ve always wanted to ask. You will get the opportunity to meet and chat with your Championship Judges - for example, past judges include:

  • Amber S. Gell is an American engineer, scientist, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education advocate who specializes in human performance in extreme environments.
  • Lonnie George Johnson is an American inventor and engineer who holds more than 80 patents. Johnson is best known for inventing the Super Soaker water gun, which has ranked among the world's top 20 best-selling toys every year since its release.
  • Steve Wozniak, nicknamed "Woz", is an American inventor, electronics engineer, programmer, and technology entrepreneur who co-founded Apple Inc.
  • And so many more!

We hope to see you there,
