Houston Wrap-Up

A huge congratulations to the FIRST Robotics Competition Chairman’s Award Winner in Houston, Team 1311, Kell Robotics, from Kennesaw, Georgia, USA!

2018 FIRST Championship Houston Chairman's Award Winners

This team is amazing. Since being Rookies in 2004, they have won an incredible 10 Chairman’s Awards before taking home the biggest prize in FRC in Houston on Saturday. Their list of accomplishments is too long to list here, but I’ll tell you they seem to be everywhere and doing everything. Just last month I ran into them at the National Science Teachers Association National Conference in Atlanta. They had one of their robots on display in the FIRST booth, telling their FIRST story there. They also spoke at one of the conferences at the event. A well-deserved award for an amazing team!

Congratulations also to our Chairman’s award finalists, two other wonderful teams:

  • Team 2096, RoboActive, Dimona, HaDarom, Israel, and
  • Team 2468, Team Appreciate, Austin, Texas, USA

And additional congratulations to the teams on our winning alliance at the event:

  • Team 254, The Cheesy Poofs, San Jose, California, USA
  • Team 148, Robowranglers, Greenville, Texas, USA
  • Team 2976, Spartabots, Sammamish, Washington, USA.
  • Team 3075, Ha-Dream Team, Hod-Ha'Sharon, HaMerkaz, Israel

The Cheesy Poofs also claim the distinction of being the only team in FRC history to win every single match they played in this season. Yep, a perfect 53-0-0 record. Great work team!

And a special shout-out to our the FIRST Robotics Competition Volunteer of the Year Award winner "Koko" Ed Patterson!
