Hi everyone! Michelle Long @ FIRST HQ here!

That gif is no exaggeration of my excitement, energy… or hair. I get to channel all that energy into my job at FIRST, which is everything after high school – education, enlistment, employment, whatever your next steps are, it’s my job to help you in getting there. This time of year, that means GRADUATION.

Class of 2021: I am NOT going to tell you how difficult this year has been, or how it’s not what you expected, or any of the thousand things that we’ve all been saying to one another for the last year. What I AM going to tell you is that there is hope.

No matter what this past year held for you, there’s hope that next year will be better. With that hope in mind, we want to celebrate the class of 2021 and everything that you have already accomplished, and everything that you hope to accomplish in the future.

I hope that you’ll join in on FIRST Seniors’ Week on Instagram, Twitter, and/or Facebook over the first full week of June (June 7 – 11) so that we can celebrate everything you’ve accomplished on your FIRST Teams – and that you’ll participate in FIRST Signing Day by the end of that week!

What’s FIRST Signing Day? Fair question! FIRST Signing Day is an initiative originally conceived in 2016 by FRC 2468 Team Appreciate to celebrate and recognize graduating seniors. Last year, we partnered with 2468 to host a live Signing Day – that was so popular we crashed the website! This year to ensure everyone can participate, we’ll be celebrating throughout Seniors’ Week and beyond and you can sign any time!

All the details about how to stay in touch with FIRST, access alumni opportunities, and in a couple weeks FIRST Signing Day at https://www.firstinspires.org/Classof21.

As you’re enjoying local awards’ shows and getting pumped for Seniors’ Week and HQ Award Shows, check out some of the resources that are available to you whether you’re graduating now or in 2025 (!!?!)
