2024 Digital Animation Award Winner and Finalists

FIRST® Robotics Competition is delighted to announce the winner and finalists for the 2024 Digital Animation Award sponsored by AutomationDirect.com! Thanks to AutomationDirect.com for sponsoring this award, and thanks to Theory Studios for providing the expert feedback to the winning teams! The winner and finalist videos will be shown as part of the playoff tournament at events this year!
Congratulations to the following teams:
First Place: “FIX IT, FIX IT” by Team 3100 The Lightning Turtles from Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA. The judges said “We were honestly blown away across the board - extremely well done. We loved the cohesive visual style, design, smooth animation, camera movements, everything.”
Second Place: “Build ‘till you Climb” by Team 1197 TorBots from Torrance, California, USA. The judges loved the cute, clever story, cohesive style, and solid character animation. Also, great use of depth of field to direct the viewer's focus.
Third Place: “Conquering the Learning Curve” by Team 122 The NASA Knights of Hampton, Virginia, USA. The judges commented on the great set building, lighting, and camera movement - and we LOVED the very on-the-nose story.
