With the 2021 FIRST® Robotics Competition Kickoff: FIRST® GAME CHANGERSSM, on January 9, consider using pneumatics in your robot! If you do, not only can you apply for NFPA’s $40,000 scholarship, but we can help you find a mentor to help your team learn more about the benefits of pneumatics.

The NFPA Robotics Challenge Scholarship is a scholarship program that launched with the 2016-17 school year. In support of the mission of FIRST® , NFPA will be offering one merit-based scholarship, for $40,000 ($10,000 per year for four years), to a high school senior who participates as part of a 2021 FIRST Robotics Competition Team and uses fluid power in their robot. This scholarship may be used to study engineering at any accredited technical college or university in the United States.

The goal of the NFPA Scholarship is to bring an awareness of fluid power options in robotics to high school students and to stimulate increased use of fluid power products in this competition.
