As a Volunteer Central volunteer, you’ll be a helpful and welcoming presence for fellow volunteers—answering questions, handing out swag and recognition items, and helping with meal check-ins. It’s a great way to support the volunteer community and keep the spirit of Gracious Professionalism® going strong behind the scenes!

Volunteer as a Volunteer Central Volunteer

FIRST Championship Only

Volunteer Central volunteers work under the direction of the Volunteer Resource Department staff at Volunteer Central. This role works with Volunteer Resources staff to assist volunteers with questions, give out swag and recognition items to volunteers, and scan volunteers badges for meals.

Minimum Age: 18 years old

Experience: Either FIRST or Related Field Experience required

Training: Some pre-event training required

  • Volunteers will be invited to a video call training including an introduction to the Stream Point registration system, custom resources, and the Event Guide ahead of the event for preparation and training.

Role Details:

  • Assist volunteers.
  • Answer questions.
  • Give out swag and recognition items.
  • May be needed to assist with the badge scanning process for meals.
  • Knowledge of FIRST not required but preferred.
  • Friendly personality.
  • Able to take direction and follow through.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must read and comply with the Volunteer Handbook

Time Commitment:

  • Volunteers are needed Tuesday – Saturday.
  • Shifts are 5 - 6 hours long and include a break for meals.
  • Can be divided among multiple volunteers for the duration of the event. 
  • More information with times will be sent before the event.
