The Team Registration System allows Teams to create a new or update an existing Team Profile. Lead Coach 1 and 2 must be screened. Youth Protection (YPP) screening can be found in the Team Registration System.

Teams are able to select if they are attending a Kickoff between September 24 - November 17, 2026.

• Teams attending a Kickoff will have the option to ship their Kit to the chosen Kickoff for no fee or choose to ship to a location for an additional charge. If a team does not check out by the payment due date, their kit ship may have to be changed to be sent to the team directly for additional fees. 

• Teams who choose not to attend a Kickoff will have to pay an additional fee to ship their kit and are responsible for any customs fees and/or taxes.

Selecting a Kickoff Event:

Lead Coach 1 or 2 or the Team Admin may select if they are attending a Kickoff during the kickoff selection dates by following these steps:

1. Log in to your FIRST® Dashboard.

2. Click your team from the Team List.

3. Click the "Team Events & Awards" button.

4. Select the blue “Kickoff Selection” link.

5. Answer the questions.

6. Click the blue “Submit” button.

As a reminder, Kit direct shipments do not ship until after Kickoff (there is not a guaranteed delivery date) and the team must be secured in order for items to ship. Once a team checks out via the FIRST Storefront, teams will not be able to edit their Kickoff selection or change their shipping location.  
 
Teams that miss the November 17, 2026 deadline may be able to still select a Kickoff location until December 1st (pending availability) as long as the team has not completed checkout.

NEW: In the FIRST Storefront, veteran teams (Lead Coach 1, Lead Coach 2, or Team Admin) will add the registration option containing their preferred kit components to their cart instead of completing a separate opt out.  

Note: After saving your Kickoff Selection, please allow up to 20 minutes for the free Kickoff shipping option to appear in the FIRST Storefront.

Drive Base Opt Out

If you are not familiar with this concept or need a refresher, veteran teams can decide to not get the standard drive base in exchange for a $450 Voucher to AndyMark (available when other Kickoff vouchers are released). The drive base kit is designed to allow a team to execute basic elements of 2027 game play and can be assembled by a small team in about six hours or less. Veteran teams will be able to select the registration option that includes the Drive Base or Black Tote opt-out preferred within the FIRST Storefront with all teams receiving a Season Specific Box regardless of selections. Registration options that include the opt-outs will only be available until the Kit Opt Out Closes, November 17, 2026.

Important note: This is only available to Veteran teams and only until the Kit Opt Out Closes, November 17, 2026. 

Black Tote Opt Out

The above concept also applies to the Black Tote. The Black Tote contains most of the items needed to create the KitBot and other items that may be relevant to teams. Veteran teams are invited to opt out of the Black Tote in exchange for a $125 voucher to AndyMark and a $125 voucher to REV Robotics. 

Veteran teams will be able to select the registration option that includes the Drive Base or Black Tote opt-out preferred within the FIRST Storefront with all teams receiving a Season Specific Box regardless of selections. Registration options that include the opt-outs will only be available until the Kit Opt Out Closes, November 17, 2026.
