The Team Avatar Submission Portal is NOW OPEN!

For the 2024 FIRST® Robotics Competition season, teams will once again be able to submit a Team Avatar to represent them during the CRESCENDOSM presented by Haas season. The Avatar will be displayed alongside other team identifying information on the Scoreboard, Live Stream, and on FRC Events webpages to represent them (alongside the team’s number and name).

The Team Avatar is completely optional. There is no element of CRESCENDO you won’t be able to play if you don’t create a Team Avatar. Avatars submitted and used during the 2023 season have been migrated to this upcoming season; there is no need to resubmit or choose new Team Avatars for the 2024 season unless your team wishes to change your avatar. Team Avatars submitted and approved will be used consistently throughout the season. Teams who do not create and submit a Team Avatar will be assigned an avatar of the FIRST® logo.

Full 2024 Team Avatar specs are provided in this Avatar Specifications PDF, and for further inspiration, here’s a great list of Avatars submitted for the 2023 season provided by The Blue Alliance. It’s important to note that unlike your team’s name, teams are not allowed unlimited changes to their Team Avatar. Each time a Team Avatar is submitted, it is reviewed by a staff member – because of this, teams are only allowed one (1) submission plus one (1) update. Design a Team Avatar that you will be proud of for the entire season!

Teams can submit new Team Avatars for consideration, view or delete existing Team Avatars, or review the status of a pending Team Avatar through the submission system. Team Avatars will be accepted through March 30, 2024.

It's important to note that the Team Avatar submission system is not managed through the Team Dashboard. Because of this, for privacy reasons, the Team Avatar submission system does not have the capability of emailing teams to notify them of status changes to their Team Avatars. The Team Avatar submitters need to check back on the status of their Team Avatar. This is typically done within 24-48 hours, though it may take up to five (5) days to review a Team Avatar.

To successfully submit a Team Avatar, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Avatar page
  2. Enter your team number and Avatar Key Access Code
    • Lead mentors 1 or 2 can retrieve the code from the Dashboard - go to the `Team Options' section, click on `Payment & Product,' click on `Passwords/Voucher Codes,' and you will find the 10-character code under “FIRST/Avatar Key.”)
  3. Click the box to agree to the terms
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Upload the Avatar you want to submit (make sure it’s compliant with the specifications).
  6. Check back to see the status of your submission.

Once a Team Avatar is accepted, the pending status will be updated within the Team Avatar submission system, and the Team Avatar will appear on the team's 2024 team webpage.

If a Team Avatar is rejected for any reason, the system will be updated, and a message will indicate why it was rejected and what steps need to be taken to resolve the issues. Please remember, Team Avatars can be rejected for a number of reasons – if you need to contact FIRST to provide documentation or have issues with submitting your Team Avatar, please contact us at firstroboticscompetition@firstinspires.org and provide your team number and a brief description of the issue.

We can’t wait to see your Team Avatars! Have a GREAT season!

Do we need to resubmit an avatar if we had one last season?

Thanks!

Jen
Team 5137

Hi Jen,  avatars submitted and used during the 2023 season have been migrated to this upcoming season; there is no need to resubmit or choose new Team Avatars for the 2024 season unless your team wishes to change your avatar.

We've been trying to access and submit our avatar and it seems the site is down. We've tried it from Chrome and frome Edge with similar results. We are using the passcode from our dashboard and when we try to log in it just takes us to a blank page.

Hi Charlie, our apologies for the inconvenience. Can you please reach out to Jason Proulx at jproulx@firstinspires.org with your team number so he can help troubleshoot?
